've seen this before. in 2000, karl rove said, george w. bush was going to win california. they spent millions and millions of dollars on advertising there. they sent bush out there, precious time, near the end of the campaign. i said, tad devine, carter, those of us involved in that campaign, so we're not spending one dime in california, and gore won the state by 1.3 million votes. the wish can't become father to the reality, which is what's going on here. >> like a team trying to talk their way to a championship instead of playing the game, so to speak. shouldn't romney have florida wrapped up? >> he should. he has a lot of -- there, he has structural advantages because he's got the governor and virtually all the statewide officials. but i think the medicare, and the republicans like to say, oh, we've countered it with this lie about a $716 billion cut under obama care, when in fact there is no such cut. there's no cut in benefits. i think that seniors have figured out two things. one, romney wants to replace medicare with voucher care. they don't like it. but isn't it the latino an

in california. no secret service, no advisers, and no words on whether he used regular or premium. romney thought he'd be on the road to the white house by now. instead, he's just on the road. meanwhile, the president is heading home on air force one after meeting with world leaders. he didn't pump the gas for that plane. here's the point. elections have consequences. the american people rejected romney's right wing views. but a lot of republicans didn't get the message. bill o'reilly is still defending romney's claim that the president won because of gifts to minorities. >> again, that's the truth. it is a stone cold fact that lower income americans, largely, re-elected president obama. now, the left is going to scream when you say that because they don't want to acknowledge the economics of the vote. liberals want to see themselves as noble. they don't want to consider the fact that entitlements buy votes. >> hear that? over at fox romney's right arm. and there's a lot of other republicans who are also drawing the wrong lessons from romney's defeat. they say he lost because he was not c

's called california. it's called maryland coming and i don't see any reason why we don't wait two years to see whether how california is doing with their new higher marginal tax rates on folks and sales taxes on middle-income people as well and sales taxes and maryland raising the tax on guys that made a million come to madrid 50, and they are down to under 50 tax in maryland because they can't leave. they make a million dollars and they can walk across the border. so, we are seeing some very -- people are testing obama's peery in the state and i think we should do it on a small state like vermont at first and see how it works. whereas texas and florida are giving an idea of how you can govern without an income tax. people moved. we kind of know what is going to happen here. indiana, illinois, big border. they just past the right to work and they're giving the school kids a choice of a falter scholarship. illinois raised taxes want to inform the government worker pension system. who is going to build a factory in the 100 miles on the western side of the border? any takers for the people

.m. and then 1:00 a.m., we'll have california, hawaii, idaho, oregon, washington, and then the last poll closing in alaska. unless this is a very strange night, those races will be interesting for governors races and senate and house races and state issues, but not necessarily for the presidency. unless things go very, very differently than expected to go. this is how your election viewing is going to unfold hour by hour on tuesday night. if you just exclude the states for the presidential race where everybody pretty much knows exactly how it's going to go and just the states where there is some question as to what's going to happen, here is a clip and save thing for you about these states. the battlegrounds. all right? states that you know are going to be important and everybody thinks they're going to be close. these are the states everybody is going to be watching on tuesday night. each of these states, as you know, has a top elections official. and each of these states has a top elections official who is a partisan. who is either a democrat or a republican. and in a democracy, that should me

in congressman karen bass from california. let me talk with you about the climate. speaker boehner seemed a bit more willing to at least discuss and put things on the table that maybe were not there before specifically tax revenues. what is your feeling or sense as congressional leaders prepare to meet with the president per his invitation at the white house? >> i was encouraged by his tone. i thought his stone signaled compromise, however the devil is in the details. so he said he was open to revenue being increased through tax reform but tax reform is extremely complicated and the fiscal cliff goes off at the end of december. we have to figure out what we'll do. the president and i would love to see tax reform but what will we do in the mean time? the president said we need to extend the tax cuts for the middle class immediately, because that impacts 98% of americans and 97% of small businesses. so i think that's the action that we need to take immediately, and i'm hoping with boehner's tone that he would aagree to that. >> we have a comment from senator marco rubio. obvious
